A source said, “The cast is reeling from the loss of their brother because that’s what Matty was — their brother.” “It’s just devastating,” the source continued. “The entire cast are close, they will be devastated, because they were together through the best of times and worst of times. And when Matty was sick, they protected him, they looked after him fiercely.”

Previously, Friends’ creators—Marta Kauffman and David Crane, and the executive producer of the show, Kevin Bright issued a statement. LA Times quoted them saying, “We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. ”He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart. We send all of our love to his family and friends.» Matthew was best known for his iconic character, Chandler Bing on Friends.
The trio also referred to the show and paid a tribute to Matthew by saying, “This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.”
Matthew Perry found dead at 54
Matthew Perry died by apparent drowning on Saturday after he was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his LA residence. Reportedly, no drugs have been found. While police suspect no foul play, prescription drugs have been recovered as per TMZ.
The actor’s family said in a statement, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.” «Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love,” they added.

Friends co-stars react to Matthew Perry’s death

According to DailyMail, sources close to Lisa Kudrow said that she thought that his death at just 54 did not seem real to “any of the gang.” The source went further on to say, “Although no one wants to believe it was medication – prescribed or not – of course that is a thought in their minds.” They continued, “They are thinking he must have taken something that did not mix with the warm water.”
Kudrow also is reportedly considering adopting Perry’s dog. The site also said she is “baffled” by Matthew Perry’s death after he had finally found “peace with himself.”
The official Friends and Warner Brothers TV Instagram account “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”
In a statement to NBC News, Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane as well as executive producer Kevin Bright shared their reaction to Perry’s death. “We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. He was a brilliant talent,” the statement read.
“We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment — not just to his work, but in life as well. He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart. We send all of our love to his family and friends. This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.”
Maggie Wheeler who played Chandler Bing’s ex-girlfriend Janice on the show posted on Instagram, “What a loss.The world will miss you Matthew Perry. The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared. ️”
Kathleen Turner played Chandler’s father on the show and gave a statement to NBC News: “I was proud to play his ‘Dad.’” Morgan Fairchild who played Chandler’s mother on the show wrote on X (formerly Twitter), I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my “son”, Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew“

On Wednesday, Jennifer joined her fellow Friends co-stars, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, and Matt LeBlanc, in honoring Perry after he was found dead at his Los Angeles home on October 28.
David also took to his Instagram profile on November 15 to post a photo with his lost friend.
The pair were dressed in brightly colored suits, and the actor’s hair was coiffed in a 1980s style.
He wrote: «Matty, Thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity.
«I will never forget your impeccable comic timing and delivery.
«You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes.
«And you had heart. Which you were generous with, and shared with us, so we could create a family out of six strangers.

Jennifer added a lengthy caption to the post, reading: «Oh boy this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before.
«We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love. Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deep.
«And we loved him deeply. He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be.»
She continued: «For Matty, he KNEW he loved to make people laugh. As he said himself, if he didn’t hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die. His life literally depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that.
«He made all of us laugh. And laugh hard. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been pouring over our texts to one another. Laughing and crying then laughing again.
«I’ll keep them forever and ever. I found one text that he sent me out of nowhere one day. It says it all. (See the second slide…).
«Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain.
«I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying, ‘Could you BE any crazier?’
«Rest little brother. You always made my day…» she closed.

Jennifer Aniston hasn’t said anything about Matthew Perry’s death but in a resurfaced interview with Diane Sawyer in 2004, it was quite clear she worried about him seriously while they filmed the beloved sitcom Friends, breaking down in tears when discussing his battles with addiction.
“We didn’t know. We, you know, we weren’t equipped, we weren’t – to deal with it. You know, nobody had ever dealt with that and, you know, the idea of even losing him,” she said. She had previously given him a warning when she confronted him about his alcoholism. “We know you’re drinking,” she said to him during a break in the shooting of Friends. “Yeah, imagine how scary a moment that was,” Perry reflected on the moment in his own interview with Sawyer. “I should have been the toast of the town, but I was in a dark room meeting with nothing but drug dealers and completely alone.”
